Whether you're quarantined alone or have someone to keep you company, I am now offering two different ways for you to receive bodywork in the comfort of your own home:

Description:
Being able to self-care is so important during this time of physical isolation and global anxiety. In this weekly class, you will learn how to use a massage ball, your body weight and some gentle stretching techniques to release tension in your body. Each week will focus on a different region of the body, i.e neck and shoulders.
This class requires no previous anatomical or massage knowledge and no physical capabilities besides being able to get safely up and down from the floor. Learning how to massage yourself effectively can be the difference between dealing with migraines, acute or even chronic pain and being able to live and enjoy your life with ease.

You will need:
  • A MASSAGE BALL [REQUIRED]---Lacrosse, hockey and tennis balls all work very well—if you buy a ball for this course, I recommend the Peanut massage ball which is essentially two lacrosse balls fused together.
  • Floor space to spread out, preferably on a yoga mat or a comfortable carpeted floor.
  • Bolsters of any kind---a few yoga blocks, a few pillows, even a few yoga blankets. It is important to have extra bolstering material on-hand in case you need it.

Partner Massage, Sundays 7-8:30pm
Co-taught with Mickey Barr, LMT
$40 per household

Description:
Thai Massage is system of bodywork and folk medicine that is practiced and taught within villages and family units as a way to help heal the body, mind, and spirit. It is not uncommon in Thailand for families to have their own lineage of massage that is transferred and refined from one generation to the next. For example, our teacher in Thailand Jack Chaiya learned from his mother Lek Chaiya.

Props Required and Physical Requirements:
Thai Massage takes place fully clothed on a floor mat, so the only equipment you really need is a yoga mat or two plus a few blankets and pillows to make yourself comfortable. Since it is a floor massage there are few physical prerequisites for both participants:
1. The ability to get up and down off of the floor with ease
2. The ability to bear your bodyweight on your hands and wrists
3. The ability to fully kneel, lunge, and sit on the floor
